2025 Trends
As we head into February, I’ve been reflecting on how rapidly our industry has evolved over the past year, and what trends are emerging for 2025.
I detailed three trends I'm seeing with regards to storytelling, but I also wanted to check in with the team and get their thoughts on what new workflows, ideas and tools they are seeing in their areas of expertise. Of course, artificial intelligence surfaced as a key theme, with a strong focus on using it to enhance collaboration, boost efficiency, and unlock creativity. What really stood out to me, though, was the growing emphasis on meaningful experiences and authenticity—something I think we can all lean into in the months ahead. I hope you find their insights as valuable as I do.
Here’s to a purposeful and impactful 2025.

2025 Trends:
Branding & Design
AI-generated aesthetics are opening up a whole new world of creative exploration, blending unexpected visuals with hyper-personalized touches that feel one-of-a-kind. In reaction to this more synthetic artistic style, authenticity is rising as a countertrend, with brands focusing on human touch and hand-crafted elements.

Experience Design
Brands will continue to create experiences that build lasting loyalty and engagement. Experience design has matured over the past years from superficial to being significant and meaningful. Investing in purposeful activations result in rich connections, but only if you make them relevant, real and thoughtful.
I am also seeing more and more brands aligning with wellbeing. People desire happiness and health—not just for themselves but for future generations. Companies that align with this desire and offer experiences that promote wellbeing and a positive lifestyle will resonate deeply with consumers in 2025.

New Technologies
2025 is set to be a pivotal year for AI integration across daily life. In our field, AI tools are expected to enhance workflows, simplifying technical tasks and allowing more focus on creativity. This shift promises to boost productivity and innovation.
Additionally, advancements in Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) are anticipated, particularly with hardware no longer posing significant limitations. The growing capabilities of mobile devices are likely to drive increased adoption in both consumer and enterprise applications.

The rise of real-time rendering tools is revolutionizing industries like real estate and development, making the process faster and more impactful. New tools allow developers to visualize changes instantly, with interactive capabilities that are much more engaging than static images.

Dubai Market Opportunity
With all the giga developments in the MENA region, architecture visualization continues to be in demand. High quality engaging video has become more and more important in storytelling. Many brands are also leaning more heavily into experience design, especially for trade shows, events and temporary installations. 'Dead spaces' are being reinvigorated into permanent experiences for the community.

Photography & Art Direction
Short storytelling videos are becoming essential tools for building relationships with customers. Vertical storytelling will continue to be key for platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Brands will also use technologies like AR and VR to create more personalized experiences to capture their audience's attention.
Project Management
Kilograph has been an early adopter in testing how AI can be implemented to improve our workflow. In 2025, we will continue leveraging AI to assist with brainstorming and creative collaborations with clients.
Interactive Design
Fonts are breaking free from convention, tearing up the rulebook with distorted type, irregular layouts, and kinetic animations that turn typography into a bold expression of change. A visual language that challenges the status quo and pushes design into uncharted territory is emerging.

Social Media
Brands will be making significant investments in organic social, which, when fully leveraged, can be a game changer for businesses. Social media in 2025 will become even more personalized, with AI shaping content to resonate with individual preferences. Immersive technologies like AR and VR will continue to grow and redefine engagement, blending the digital and physical worlds seamlessly.
Storytelling
Cinematic “Place-Making”:
A narrative framework that evokes genuine emotion helps a design to come to life. This may be a tired idea for some but advancements in Virtual Production and AI character generation and 4D animated characters make this increasingly possible. By structuring each space in a project with thematic arcs, character perspectives, and carefully choreographed visuals, we can transform buildings into increasingly immersive stories.. that engage all who step inside. Fictions inside of the Forms.
Community-Centered Narratives:
Spaces really come to life when the people who use them share in shaping their narrative. Involving future residents, local businesses, and broader community voices in the design process, or capturing their opinions on-screen in an authentic way, ensures that the final result isn’t just a building. It’s a story reflecting the collective values and aspirations of a community."
Multi-Sensory Storytelling:
Storytelling that transcends appearances. When you integrate soundscapes (ambient sounds), moving lighting, and physical prompts, you can create a very “real” experience. Here, technology—whether AR or VR—isn’t just a gimic, but a way to immerse people in the world you’ve created.
