Path of Progress
Path of Progress is a public–private initiative, founded by DTLA Alliance, focused on improving safety, cleanliness, and the overall experience of Downtown Los Angeles. The program unites agencies and partners to revitalize key corridors for the 2028 Olympics and beyond.
In partnership with DTLA Alliance, Kilograph helped shape how this effort could be understood and experienced. The challenge was not just to communicate the initiative, but to bring clarity, cohesion, and momentum to a complex, multi-stakeholder program, creating an identity, film, webpage and presentation toolkit that could unify and move it forward.The project culminated in a high-impact film that premiered at the DTLA Alliance’s Trends & Outlook breakfast. More than just a presentation piece, these assets serve as a practical resource for the Alliance to reach out to potential partners. With a clear brand and a compelling message, they now have the professional toolkit needed to expand their network and invite more collaborators to the table.
A continuous line defines the system, tracing a path through Downtown Los Angeles that reflects movement, connection, and ongoing progress. Extending beyond the mark, it maps relationships between corridors and communities, becoming both a visual and functional thread.
Grounded in the city’s grid yet fluid in its expression, the line reinforces progress as something active and unfolding, bringing clarity and cohesion across the experience.
The system translates a singular idea into a cohesive visual language, where line, type, and color operate in close dialogue. Composition is intentional and directional, guiding attention while maintaining a sense of openness and flow.
An expanded tonal range rooted in the DTLA Alliance’s purple introduces contrast and flexibility, allowing the identity to scale across mediums. Whether in motion, on screen, or in the built environment, the system remains consistent yet adaptable, designed to carry momentum across every touchpoint.
